17/02/2018

Could your influence HELP a loved one? Get them help when you can’t help them:- A paralyzed man received healing from Jesus because his friends dropped him through a roof at Jesus’ feet > They were willing to do whatever it took it to get help for their friend! (Mark 2:1-12)

Barnabas smoothed the way for Paul with the Jerusalem church leaders.[Acts 9:27-30]

Paul wrote to Philemon for Onesimus the runaway slave. [Philemon 8-11]

NB. It's not about finding with to avoid judgement thus in feeling like a failure as in not doing everything perfectly. It's about fully experiencing LOVE and letting it perfect you

14/02/2018

The nature of God's love is unchangeable > If it is our habit to love God with our own affection, we shall turn COLD towards him whenever we are unhappy!

“But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love

and faithfulness.” = Psalm 86:15

TEST & EXAMINE YOUR FAITH THROUGH GODS WORD

29/01/2018

God's Word tells a True Believer to: TEST & EXAMINE YOURSELVES to see if we are really in the Faith. Are we truly Born Again? Does our life Reflect God's Word, and the Life of Jesus Christ? Do we Act like Jesus? Talk like Jesus? Think like Jesus More and More every day?— Being Conformed into the Image of Christ? (Rom 8:29-302 Cor 3:16-18) If Not, and we are Practicing Sin (1 John 3:8-10Heb 10:26-31) then we are Failing the Test.

  • 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, "EXAMINE YOURSELVES to see if your FAITH IS GENUINE. TEST YOURSELVES. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have FAILED THE TEST OF GENUINE FAITH."

We need to take the time to EXAMINE OURSELVES NOW, and JUDGE OURSELVES NOW with God's Word. We need to Turn from our Sins & Believe in the Gospel of JESUS CHRIST, so we will not be Judged along with the rest of the World, and be found Guilty and Condemned (1 Cor 11:31-32).

  • 1 Corinthians 11:31-32 "But if we would EXAMINE OURSELVES (now), we would not be JUDGED BY GOD in this way. Yet when we are JUDGED BY THE LORD, we are being DISCIPLINED so that we will NOT BE CONDEMNED ALONG WITH THE WORLD."

Overcoming the Fear in You

26/01/2018

How can we fight fear with faith? Jesus' sleeping presence on the storm-tossed sea reveals the sleeping faith of his disciples. They feared for their lives even though their Lord and Master was with them in the boat. They were asleep to Christ while he was present to them in their hour of need. The Lord Jesus is ever present to us. And in our time of testing he asks the same question: Why are you afraid? Have you no faith? Do you recognize the Lord's presence with you, especially when you meet the storms of adversity, sorrow, and temptation? Whenever we encounter trouble, the Lord is there with the same reassuring message: "It is I, do not be afraid.

Fear does not need to cripple us from taking right action or rob us of our trust and reliance on God. Courage working with faith enables us to embrace God's word of truth and love with confidence and to act on it with firm hope in God's promises. The love of God strengthens us in our faith and trust in him and enables us to act with justice and kindness towards our neighbor even in the face of opposition or harm. Do you allow the love of Christ to rule in your heart and mind, and to move your will to choose what is good in accordance with his will?

When you have to listen to abuse, that means you are being buffeted by the wind. When your anger is roused, you are being tossed by the waves. So when the winds blow and the waves mount high, the boat is in danger, your heart is imperiled, your heart is taking a battering. On hearing yourself insulted, you long to retaliate; but the joy of revenge brings with it another kind of misfortune - shipwreck. Why is this? Because Christ is asleep in you. What do I mean? I mean you have forgotten his presence. Rouse him, then; remember him, let him keep watch within you, pay heed to him... A temptation arises: it is the wind. It disturbs you: it is the surging of the sea. This is the moment to awaken Christ and let him remind you of those words: 'Who can this be? Even the winds and the sea obey him

Are you spiritually awake? Peter, James, and John were privileged witnesses of the glory of Christ. We, too, as disciples of Christ are called to be witnesses of his glory. We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit !

Your Life is the Only Bible Some People Read

24/01/2018

The apostle Paul must have found himself battling similar demons. He lived two starkly different lives. The one prior to his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus and the one he lived after meeting Ananias in Damascus.

Who would he try to please with his life? Those who wanted him to return to persecuting christians? Those who wanted him to preach Christ only to Jews and not Gentiles? Those who knew him only as God's servant?

It must have been out of his frustration with pleasing people that he wrote, "It matters very little to me what you think of me, even less where I rank in popular opinion." (I Corinthians 4:3 The Message). Paul decided to draw a line in the sand. He came to the place where all he was concerned with was pleasing God, not people.

That is the solution for everyone who allows public opinion to dictate to them how they should act.We have no control over what people think of us. How they view us is dictated by their own lifestyle, beliefs, prejudices, opinions, etc. That's why living to please others will make you miserable – there will always be someone who does not like what you are doing! What a good reminder to realize not only are “men of faith” watching, but also people with weak or no faith. Someone said, “Our life may be the only Bible some people will ever read.” What are they reading in my life and actions today? What are they reading in yours?

Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that hinders, slows us down or holds us back” (Hebrews 12:1).
